Why Glass Partitions are Excellent for NHS Spaces
Many office buildings around the country have already realised the benefits of glass partitions and have opted for them over traditional solid walls. In our latest project to offer glazed partitions Yorkshire, we offered these benefits to an NHS hospital. glass office partitioning in York
The project
The brief for the project was an interesting one. The space within the hospital covered different floors and had different purposes. On one level, there were the office spaces where administration staff were based while on the other level were classrooms where teaching programs were held.
For two of the classrooms we created, we used 12mm toughened glass. This was fitted into place with aluminium channels to ensure the partitions stayed in their location. A further two had special requirements and this means using 19mm pyrobel glass – this is fire safety rated to meet with fire standards.
In the two offices, we used 12mm and 16mm partitions, depending on if the wall needed to have the fire safety rated glass or not. We also used manifestation on the walls to give privacy to the people inside.
Why opt for glass partitions?
Using glass partitioning York and around the area has a number of benefits for any type of business from offices to health care and even shops. Here are just a few examples of why the NHS opted to use our glass partitions for this project.
Allows natural light in
Natural sunlight is a proven productivity booster and makes people feel better. That’s one of the top reasons that glass is used in windows and now in partitioning. Rather than stopping the sunlight, as walls do, it allows it to flow through.
Creates a modern look
Glass is an ancient material yet gives a very modern feel to a space, partly due to the flow of light and partly due to the feeling of space that it gives. We can offer partitions in varying styles to further fit in with the aesthetic of the space including stationary, frame-less and even coloured glass.
Create a flowing workspace
The old idea of using solid walls to separate a space also left people feeling isolated and alone which can hinder collaboration. When you can see your colleagues, give a quick wave to get their attention and easily see what people are doing, there’s a feeling of being part of something bigger and this encourages collaboration.
Glass doesn’t have to be clear
Another development with the modern partition is that it doesn’t need to be clear and this is ideal if you have areas where privacy is required, such as in the offices we outfitted for the NHS. Manifestation is the term we use for the coating to the glass that makes it opaque and gives privacy to the space inside.
The perfect partition
Glass office partitioning in York are a cost effective option for almost any type of business, offering numerous benefits while being completely safe due to the toughened nature of the product we use. We can assist in giving a modern finish to any space and have it fit your requirements exactly.
